Project Car Buying Guide
Before you buy a project car there are a number of things that you really should consider first. Pretty much any car is 'restorable' but not every car should be restored.

As much as you think there is no way in HELL you will ever sell the car you are taking on as a project, chances are someday you will. Be realistic about the possible and potential values of project cars you look at. Rarely will you ever get top value for a project car you restore...even if you are asking $20k and you put in double that.
Here are a few key tips:
- Always take "Original" over "Upgrades"...no matter what!
- You may think Hot Rods are cool but you may have a hard time getting rid of one
- The body style of a project car can have a huge effect on the overall value, look for and know the difference between a "Special" or "Deluxe" model etc.
- I know any car CAN be restored but seriously...you have to be somewhat realistic about your level of ability.
Remember, at the end of the day the idea is to have fun...the last thing you want is your project car to turn into a part-time job.
